Chinese new year!
A fellow traveler, Jack, and I took a taxi into China town. An half hour ride, 12.2km. Price 105baht, 20kr...

We had a walk through the main street. LOTS of people, and lots of food stands. So we basically had another day of eating - only Chinese today.

Policemen were closing the street, and people were lining up. Something big was coming up for sure. A parade, fireworks ? We had no clue, but waited. And waited, and waited. About 35 degrees, but we had a good spot, so wouldn't leave.
After 2 and a half hour, it finally started. We got up. We were standing on a little wall. Great spots. But a man told us to sit down again. I didn't hear it, so I kept standing, and recorded the "thing" on my camera. A bunch of red trucks passing by??
All the people, who had been waiting there with us left. ?? Was that it.
Apparently we had just seen a princess driving by... There's a rule saying you can not be higher than the royal family. That's why we were told to sit down...
A bit of an anticlimax... I was the one talking Jack into staying at the good spot.

Oh well, an experience, and we had some good food afterwards, of course :-)

On the way back home we had Thai whiskey, and had a great time at the guesthouse...

Tomorrow I'm leaving Bangkok. Probably going north...
