day 3

Germany and back

Had a nice breakfast with Trine,
made a few couch requests in Flensburg and took of. Tanks for a great time Uwe and Trine!
My knee felt ok, and I travelled in a nice slow pace. I stopped heaps of times. Especially a walk in Kværs Plantage was interesting and nice. I found some nice mushrooms I/ we could have for dinner. Geocaching was also done at the place. Did quite a bit of geocaching today. Makes the trip feel shorter.

I actually made it to Germany, but I had no places to stay yet. I decided to follow the "border bike trail".
It turned out to be really nice. No cars, and lots of information boards. A woman told me about a nice tent site in Frøslev Plantage. Great with a goal.

The campsite was great even though it turned out to be in a " dog forrest"
Think I met like 10 loose dogs before dinner ( pasta with the mushrooms from Kværs)

Think I'm heading south west tomorrow.
Tonight my hammock and rainfly will have it's first night...

day 2

Bye family and Jels

I made some couchsurfing request in south Jutland, and took off.
I did a bit of geocaching on my way.
A couple from Aabenraa accepted my couch request - I had a goal.

My knee was causing me some trouble and pain though. Should I stop the tour already? no way. I have two legs. Thanks left leg!
Just as I rang the door in aabenraa, the rain started - lucky me!
The couple (Uwe and Trine) was really nice, funny, and laid back. All perfect

day 1

Day 1
My trip has begun!
I started out in Frederica where I had breakfast with my naboes in Solfang (www.absolfang.dk)
Thanks for presents, and greetings! the first chocolate bar is already gone :)

My first night was already planned. My dads was celebrating being 60 years old. Nice to see him and the rest of some of the family.
Went to bed at around 3 am, and managed to get up for breakfast at 8:30 am!

Rainwear testet

I did 214km during my 4 day testrun in week 33.

Monday
Started out in Fredericia, and ended up in Flemming near Horsens.
A great couchsurfing family hosted me for the first night.
Distance: 63km

Tuesday

An early start - the family had to get up early for school/work.
My mom lives in Ry, and I had promised her a visit if I got near her place.
The forecast said rain in the afternoon, so I headed for Ry.
I just managed to get to Ry before the rain came. It flooded their basement, so I was a bit lucky. I even had my first flat tire - on day two! New tires are already ordered :-)
Distance: 37km

Wednesday
Rainwar tested!
Did 60km in all day rain... Denmark, and especially the area I was in, had a record rain amount. About 100mm for the day.
I did the hole day in headwind and RAIN! :-)
The bags were a 100% rainproof, my rain-wear.... well not so rainproof :-)
Ended up in Horsens were I wanted to find a shelter, but a colleague called and offered me a couch - and a rainfly I needed for my hammock - thanks Valle!

Thursday
My list with "things to change" and "remember before you leave" was allready long, and home was pretty close. So I decided to head for home.
I had afternoon tea at "Heddahgaarden". An old farm owned by Heddah and her husband, Peter. I had a cup of coffee (or three), a homemade muffin, and a long chat with Heddah. If you come near Vejle - visit their place: http://www.heddahgaarden.dk/
Distance: 54km
