Going home

Having and open wound and swimming in salt water might have been the reason.
The wound on my butt is still open. I have been writing to sos insurance for weeks now for information what to do.
I wanted a doctor to check it.
So a few days ago I decided to take a photo of my butt and emailed it to them.
Two days later I got an answer.
Sos's doctor thought, like me, it would be a good idea to have to wound checked in Denmark.
So he cleared me for business class tickets all the way home.
Leaving Bangkok tonight, and are landing in Copenhagen on the 12th of April.
Train and pickup in Fredericia already organised, so that's perfect.

I've bought a few souvenirs, and now I'm looking forward to the business lounges in the airport :-)

Bangkok had a big thunderstorm today. Very exciting.

Bye Philippines!

It's been a great adventure!
Lovely people and lovely country!

Right now in a not so exciting place in the Philippines. Terminal 3, Manila...
Best part, even though it's expensive: Bo's coffee. Best coffee I've had in the Philippines.

Today Bob and I went out and handed out sweets again. And don't worry mom, this time we also gave the kids (and some adults) toothbrushes and paste.

I also bought a new dinner music CD to my hostel. With guitar music. So that's probably still playing :-)

Next stop Bangkok!

Dinnermusic

Still in Manila. Doing to tourist thing. Visiting giant Malls. Buying some souvenirs, and trying lots of different food.
Staying in central Manila in a pension called Adriatico Pensionne Inn.
850p (120kr) for my own fanned room with satellite TV. Including breakfast.
This morning I woke up to dinner music outside my window. At 6:30...
Now I'm back at the breakfast area (with wifi), and the same cd is still playing... :-)
Walking down the street is very interesting. Lots of people trying to sell watches, sunglasses, laserpointers and girls...
There's plenty of poor people sleeping/living in the street.
A lot of kids begging for food and money. I always bring a lot of sweets in my pocket. Probably not the best to give to kids without as toothbrush, but Bob is helping me, and makes it very entertaining for the kids, me, and the people who often are lining up to watch Bob fight the kids.
Today I gave 50p to a woman just to get rid of her. She contacted me after a "Bob show". Normal smalltalk. Then she decided to follow me. For a long time. I walked into an internet cafe and started writing emails. She was waiting on a chair next to me. I told her there was no point waiting for me. She asked for money for food. She didn't look poor, but gave her 50p to get rid of her.

When leaving the reception I'm always told: "be careful". A good idea, but with common sense and awareness, your fine in most neighborhoods.

All three photos are from Mall of Asia. A giant shopping center.

Plastic bags illegal

Bye Amazing. An amazing trip!
Bye Chito, Juv, Skipper, Signe, Lars, Peter, Sofia and Kim! Thanks for a great time. Thanks for some world class diving, world class adventure and world class rum and coke :-)

Now, I'm on my way home, but taking one step at the time. I took a bus from Donsol to Legazpi today.
An interesting tour, and I had company with two American tourists.

Checked in at Legazpi tourist Inn. A private room with fan and shower: 600 pesos (85kr)
So nice with a fresh water shower again.
Tomorrow I'm flying back to Manila. I'm there for two nights.
Did a little shopping in Legazpi. After a while I realized: no one are caring plastic bags or giving plastic bags. Reason: it's illegal for the shops to give plastic bags. Great!
We have seen soooo many plastic bags floating around on our trip. Especially around the big cities, so well done Legazpi, that's the way to go! (combined with information to your people)

Leaving SY Amazing

Have had my last dive in the Philippines while sailing with SY Amazing.
A drift dive, 25 metres depth, 10m visibility. The least great dive, but we still saw a beautiful spotted Eagle Ray, and found drifting in the current quit nice and fun.
My buddy was Signe.

Now, in Donsol anchoring outside Amor Farm Beach Resort.
It's a hotspot for whaleshark tours, but there's not many sharks here at the moment. We were very lucky to see them in Leyte, so most of the crew aren't going on the tour.

The crew is enjoying cold mango shakes, getting massages and tonight we'll rent a bathroom so we can get a fresh water shower. The first one for a while. Price: 25 pesos each. (3.5kr)

I'm taking the bus to Legazpi tomorrow, and fly to Manila. Leaving the Philippines on the 9th of April.

Tagapul-an island

Almost a hole day sailing.
The sunroof was luckily up, so we were able to get some shade while sailing.
A nice day sailing with ok wind, nice weather.
We arrived at the little island Tagapul-an island after lunch, so we had time for meeting locals, a swim, a sundowner, and a game of hearts.

The locals were very friendly, but also very shy. On the other islands Bob have been able to attract kids with candy.n on this island we had to put the candy down and leave it. The kids were to shy/scared to get close.

We found a very little shop were we bought onions, coffee and tomato paste.
We even found a lady selling big chunks of ice for 20 pesos. Perfect for our sundowner.

Gato island

Diving again.
From Malapasqua the little island Gato is visible. A very little island. "only a rock, not an island" according to Chito.

Island or not. The crew on SY Amazing had to great dives there today.
There's a diveable cave running under the island.
I didn't join that dive, but joined the other Gato dive. Also with caves. We saw to very big sharks sleeping in a cave.

Now anchoring outside the island Carnasa.
